More oldschool pc cores?
-
I was thinking, could be possible more oldschool pc emulators?
There are tons and tons of old pc games that are awesome, and..it would be cool the implementation of more pc emulators, for example, apple2, commodore 64, bbc micro, and some japanese pc computers like:
nec-pc 8801
sharpx1
fujitsu fm-7
nec pc 9801
sharp x680000
fujitsu fm townsandwhy not, DOS
Thank you for reading this

C64, Amiga and DOSBox are in the making. The Games for FM-Towns can be played via ScummVM (some) and the others that you've mentioned are basically, more or less, all the same when it comes to games.
- NEC PC 8801 has the same Games as MSX (at least for games by Game Arts, ELF Corp. and Konami). Further most of the FDS Games have been ported to this system, so just use FDS
- X1 is basically a bad version of the PC8801.
- FM-7 has the same Games as FM-Towns and shares some with MSX
- and so on...
-
@Nachtgarm I suggest you read the link I posted in the emulators subforum a few days ago but twhat you say is totally untrue there a lot of games on those old japanese computers which where never released on other machines, even on msx
-
Saying, that my post is "totally untrue" is bulls**t. I stated, that "...basically, more or less, all the same..." which is NOT saying it's all the same but a lot of it is. Read, what I wrote! I'm not saying, there are no exclusive titles, but MOST of the available Games were released on several platforms which we already support with recalbox!
- "...same Games as MSX (at least for games by Game Arts, ELF Corp. and Konami)."
-"...most of the FDS Games have been ported..."
and so on...
So I suggest you, @voljega, should read carefully, before calling it "untrue"!

@Nachtgarm sorry if the chosen term hurt you but acknowledging that msx and fds games also exist on these japanese computers doesn't say anything about the full games list released for those computer.
Basically it even just means that most of the msx and fds games can be also found on those other computers, not rhe other way around.
And off course those 'other' computers have overlapping game lists between them
Regarding the link i'm always typing from my phone so it's not the most practical to c/p a link

whatvever. Do these computers have an open source emulator that runs under SDL/EGL + Linux or not ?
-
No i don't think so they seem pretty obscure
