How to change rendering resolution on PSX emulator
-
Hello people, I would like to know wether it's possible, and if it is, how to change the rendering resolution on PSX games. The default resolution is very low and I would like to try higher resolutions for better image quality but didn't find it on Retroarch setup. Thanks in advance!

Hello may be with recalbox.conf : https://github.com/recalbox/recalbox-os/wiki/recalbox.conf-(EN) may be overlock your rpi2 (turbo mode) Exemple :
psx.videomode=CEA 4 HDMI
more video configuration : https://github.com/recalbox/recalbox-os/wiki/Video-configuration-detailled-(EN) -
Using recalbox.conf videomode will only display the image in the resolution you enter (using rough upscaling), but not enhance the internal emulation of the emulator. You have to access retroarch settings during game with hotkey + b and then select the first item in the menu then set enhanced resolution to on. On this screen, those are core options so it will automatically save on exit and then ben activated for all psx games. But for 3D games even the pi3 is not enough to have perfect performances with enhanced resolution, maybe not on second 3D tier games, but I tried on Danger Girl and it lags a lot, somewhere between 15-20 fps. Maybe Pi3 overclocking will allow to have better performances but i'm not so sure

Hello everyone,
For who want to improve a little bit the graphics, follow the steps:
1 - Open Retroarch;
2 - Select Options;
3 - Enable the option "Enhaced resolution(slow)".With the 3 simple steps, you'll get better graphics.

Sorry for the big "up" but I searched for this kind of information and I found this topic and thanks for what you said and I would like to add this :
https://retroresolution.com/2016/01/07/playstation-emulation-on-the-pi-enhancing-the-experience-with-the-options-menu-part-two-graphics/It's very interesting and that will improve a lot the rendering resolution of the PSX.
