Odyssey² - Joysticks problem

Hi all, I have a problem in emulation of the Odyssey² : Several games only work when two gamepads are connected, it seems that the "core" of the Odyssey is set to use the second controller as the primary . Without the second controller connected, several games do not work. Please , is there any way to fix this for the games to work with only one control connected? Thanks!
