(4.0.0-b3)(RPi3) broadcom bcm2046b1 not functioning properly

Hello, first timer here. I'm using a Bluetooth single from asus (usb-bt21) with a bcm2046b1 chip. The wiki reports this chip as working. However, when I plug it in, hcitool finds nothing, hciconfig dev reports nothing, and lsusb finds the device as 3 HIDs (KB, mouse, USB hub). This problem seems common for years with this USB dongle and can apparently be fixed with the hid2hci tool, but I obviously can't do that on recalbox. I'm relatively new to this stuff, so keep it basic if you can help. Thanks in advance!
