after upgrading last night to Recalbox 8.0.2 I got stuck in a loading loop with the screen going black and white between recalbox and emulation station loading.

what can I do to recover this without reformatiing the SD card as I had all my roms copied etc... I regret to have upgraded, I did it in hope to have more compatibility with Pico8 Games... why this happened? I am on raspberry pi Zero 2 W

Did you check the Powersupport to your Pi ?
Sometimes the Pi won't boot if he doesn’t get enough Power.
Is there maybe a yellow Flash in one of the upper corners ?

Or maybe your SD-Card is corrupted ?

Did you connect your Raspberry to your LAN ?

Maybe you can access your Raspberry with the "Windows-Explorer"

        1. Connect your Raspberry to your LAN (it's best to do this with an Eternet-Cable)
        2. On your Windows-PC start the "Windows-Explorer"
        3. Search for "Network"
        4. Klick on "Network" and the Name of your Raspberry (for Example "Recalbox" should show up. - If this doesn't happen you can stop here.
        5. If the Name of your Pi shows up klick on it and a Partiton named "share" should appear.
        6. Klick on "share" and some Folder should appear.
        7. Your Games are in the "roms" Folder, your Save in the "saves" Folder and your BIOS is in the "bios" Folder.
        8. Copy these Folders to your PC.
        9. Now format your SD-Card, make a fresh Install of Recalbox 8 and see if it starts now.
        10. If it works, you can copy the Folders back to the SD-Card (Or, copy what's in these folders into the Folders which already exist on your SD-Card)

If the things above are not possible you can use a SD-Card Reader like this
        https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B097MHD3L1/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

        1. Put your SD-Card in the Reader and connect it to your PC
        2. Start "Windows-Explorer"
        3. Your SD-Card should show up
        4. Klick on it and you will see the "share" Partition
        5. Now follow Point 6 to 10.

I've watched both of these videos and both show how you make a "Fresh Install" and they assume that after the Installation you have access to Recalbox on your Rasperry Pi (or other System).

But ayskura has already made an Update to Recalbox 8.0.2, and now she's/he's stuck in a "Boot Loop" and Recalbox didn't start at all (watch the Video !)
Because of that, she/he asks how to fix this Problem or wants to know if there is at last a Possibility to access her/his SD-Card to save his Games, Saves, and BIOS

I've watched both of these videos and both show how you make a "Fresh Install"

The first video explains how to update without internet.
If the user had a problem with the update as is the case, there is the possibility of trying to do the update manually. And I'm sure the user asking for possibilities should try this one.

a Possibility to access her/his SD-Card to save his Games, Saves, and BIOS

The second video tells how to recover your personal files, in case it is not possible to recover your current installation, and the only possibility is to redo the installation.

At no time did I say that this solves his problem without having to redo the installation, and I just told the user to see if the links help, because I believe that a user who has doubts, likes to have as many possibilities available and decide for yourself.

I've watched both of these videos

It's ok if you read carefully, you'll notice that I marked ayskura, NOT YOU, because the videos weren't directed to you, so I don't know why you who don't have this problem, are complaining as if YOU know exactly how to solve the problem, and as if YOU could make sure that the videos I mentioned didn't help the user at all.
Users have free will, and here on the forum it is important that you let users say their opinion, YOUR opinion may not reflect the opinion of others, you need to stop intervening negatively as you are doing.

@ayskura Sorry for the discussion, please clarify if this is not your question, or, if the problem has been solved, tell how you solved it, just to register in case other users in the future have the same question.

Oh, just look around on this Board, Recalbox is a Box full of Wonders and amazes the User every day anew with a new Feature.

The Problem is you don’t have access to Recalbox on your Raspberry.

The only other Thing that come to my Mind is to install Recalbox 8 again with the help of the "Raspberry Pi Imager"
                    https://www.recalbox.com/download/stable/rpi/rpizero2/

But I'm afraid all your Gamedata will be lost, because as far as I know this way of installation will format your SD-Card and all old Data will be arased.
So I think there is no other way as to copy the Files you need from your SD-Card to your PC and make a fresh install from scratch (maybe using a new SD-Card), but I can be wrong.

I've got a lot of Games too, but I keep them on a separate HDD, because if a Problem with Recalbox occurs my Files are still save.

concerning the Pi02 w, did you get the right image ?
the "legacy" one concerns the installation using a gpi case, so you have to install the other one :
                      https://www.recalbox.com/fr/download/stable/rpi/rpizero2/alternative/

If recalbox loops while loading, that means the power supply is not powerfull enough. Which one do you use ?

                      • RPi0w : GPi Case
                      • RPi4-2Go : Nespi4case - SN30 pro+ & PS3 DualShock pads - Logitech M170 (BT) keyboard/mouse set
                      • Odroid Go Advance & Go Super
                      • PC : CPU i5 core 2.8/3.4 GHz - GPU GeForce 850M - RAM 8Go DDR3L

I've had the same Idea (Power supply) and asked about this in my first Post here
