Fail init "resizing fat"

Hello, I have a problem with the installation of recalboxOS from the beginning. I followed the tutorial "create your recalbox" to the letter, but when I plugged everything, nothing happened, black screen. The problem was that the software gives you the link format is not formatted in FAT32, exFAT, but does not work. I downloaded GUI-FAT32 format that makes your job properly and miracle, I have something on the screen. Yippee. Except that I have on the screen is the message "error resizing the existing partition fat" error. No glop. thanks!!

i try sandisk 8gb 4class and kingston 16gb 10class not work with any of the 2 always get the “error resizing the existing partition fat” not to do, any help?

Part of the problem might be in unlocking the partition. I've had a few instances where the partition stayed locked upon boot as read only and had to be manually unlocked by remounting it, but the problem might be in that you're using the partition at the time you are trying to resize it. Normally, there are three partitions and resizing only affects one of them that can be dismounted. If you're using only the one, there will be problems. I recommend downloading a version of Ubuntu or Fedora and running gparted (for Ubuntu) or the equivalent partition editor for Fedora (I don't recall off the top of my head what it is called) and just resizing with it. It makes for a great recovery disk in the case of Windows failure as it would seem that you are using a Windows based system. You can run Ubuntu straight off of a boot DVD without installation and it will work just fine (minus a few shutdown issues). But there you go.

The truth is not that happens. I have solved the sd card recording on another computer ( laptop ) that has SD card reader (using an adapter for micro sd ) It has worked!! I can not find logic because this happens, but if someone happens to try on another computer. does not make sense but it works !! Thank you

Do you mean when they try it on a computer running an OS that is NOT running from the card? If that's the case, then most likely it is because the partition is in use that it can't be resized. For a partition to be resized, it needs to be dismounted. If you attempt to dismount a partition that is in use, then you get an error. For this reason, it's better to use different partitions for boot, root (/), and home. Personally, I end up using Btrfs or Ext4 with certain flash taxing features turned off and write-through enabled on my root and home partitions to increase read and write speeds, but that requires another computer to handle the resizing and even partitioning in the first place. In any case, I'm glad that you managed to resize your card properly. Take care.

I try the SD card in a Raspberry Pi 2 If you are formatting and I record the card from my desktop pc with external card reader and windows7 fails me , but if I record my card with my lenovo laptop with SD card reader built works perfectly . does not have any logic , because the formatting and copying files seamlessly performed on 2 computers ... . excuse my English , it's terrible

But the OS was on the computers' hard drives that you put the card into. You weren't running Windows from the SD card on your lenovo or desktop. The problem with Windows 7 may have been your card reader. So it all comes down to just do what works for you.

in the 2 computers I use the same version of Windows 7 . I definitely think the problem was in the Card Reader thanks!!!
