mame core settings

Hope someone can help me. I am running Recalbox 18.07.13. Everything seems to run fine except mame. If l select liberto and mame078 as emulator and core all my games run but the game spills off the top and bottom by a small amount. If I select advancemame and the core same name the games are perfect but not as many of my roms are compatible. Is there a setting I can change in the core so that the picture shows properly while using librerto.
