Most of the PSX games are slow
-
I have everything you just mentioned, but B****y roar 2 just runs really slow, like Half speed. I have Beta 5 + update Overclocked to 1050 Revind and smoothing are off, My cable's short, so I don't know why it won't work full speed
-
Hi do you have sometimes a little multicolor square on the top right of your screen?
-
Yes
-
Ok so you have a problem with your power supply. That can explain the problem of framerate. Try others supply and others cables. I'm using this one and I never had problems. http://www.amazon.fr/gp/aw/d/B00U88KSHO/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1442433607&sr=1-1&pi=SY200_QL40&dpPl=1&dpID=415in6zq%2BdL&ref=plSrch

I just replaced my USB cable, testing it now
-
Ok so, test differents power supply and cables until you no more see this square on your screen. And if you dont find a good association, buy a good supply for your rpi
-
Should the box appear on boot? The game now runs perfectly (I think) it has some sound crackling here and there, but runs on 100%
-
This should be in the FAQ. FOr info Daniel, it's written in the diy page that you must have a quality > 1.5amp power supply. That's meant to avoid this kind of time loss
-
Looks like my cable was at fault. I have an 5V1.5A quality charger. I wouldn't call this time loss, because I got to learn from it. With that said, Thank you for all your help so far!

For the PSX emulator I noticed while trying Bushido Blade 2 that it was running full speed when using 720p videomode but lagged a lot with 1080p so it maybe a good idea to force the videomode for PSX to 720p in the next release (or even 480p since I think PSX games resolution is below that)
-
Dude the videomode is already in 720p for all games.
-
Yeah but there are guys like myself who try to put the videomode for all emulators to 1080p and then launch PSX games and it is slow... Forcing the videomode for the PSX would prevent that but ok maybe this is far-fetched
-
Are you kidding ? It's already by default in 720p, and you ask me to reforce the 720p if someone change the configuration... I have done the videomode configuration to let people choose the video mode, i can't make rules that will set the mode only if the guy knonws what he is doing. Next thing, i i force the video mode even if you choose one, that means if you have a screen incompatible with the 720p, it won't work (crt, dmt etc...) You touch the main issue of the recalbox. People want something simple, but configurable, but keep it simple and secure, but i want to configure everything, but simple still.......
-
Sorry I was just thinking that it would maybe simpler for you that way : forcing the resolution for PSX to 720p would avoid people messing up their recalbox.conf and then asking about why the PSX emulation is slow. I just hadn't thought about CRT screens and other things, so yes my proposition was stupid. But I wasn't complaining there ! I understand that your goal is to make thing simpler, kinda plug'n play, so I was wondering if forcing some parameters in recalbox.conf would prevents people who discover the recalbox to ask questions which have already a response...

Hey having similar issues. I've over clocked my raspi2 to 1100MHZ, put on the rewind option, and I've got v4.0.0 of recalbox and my psx games are still pretty laggy. Seems like it has approved a bit since doing the aforementioned steps listed above, but the audio just sounds buggy and and games play slow. Any ideas or suggestions?

An update: the emulator keeps saying "no BIOS found expect bugs" even though there is a BIOS in the BIOS folder.
