Wii - Controller Wont Work

Hi. I'm using a PS3 dualshock 3 controller which works fine in every emulator I've tried - except for Wii. When I start playing a Wii game I get a black screen and then some yellow lettering that says "Wiimote 1 Disconnect. Wiimote 2 Disconnect. Wiimote 3 Disconnect. Wiimote 4 Disconnect." Then the game starts but neither the controller or keyoard will work. Anyone else had this problem?
