CEC OSD name

I found this on retropie forum, you must try it, my TV doesn't support cec osd...

If you connect your pi + RetroPie via HDMI, currently it appears as "raspberry" in the device list. A bit boring... but we can change that!

In /boot/config.txt, add the line

cec_osd_name=RetroPie
Reboot, and now it appears as "RetroPie" Note: on my TV I had to press a button to 'refresh' the AV channel list, to get it to update.

So, this seems like something that could be automatic, so I was thinking about submitting it to the script, but not sure if it's a good idea and/or where to put it. Probably somewhere in https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/tree/master/scriptmodules/supplementary ?

@godhunter74 wow wow wow ... I'll test and report. But I do like this feature, i was looking for it for some time but gave up.

But please note : it's in /boot/config.txt, so no need of any script. It will be called Recalbox and that's all

Cette fonction ne doit pas être disponible sur toutes les tv,
Ma Philips 42PFL3605H/12 à bien le "EasyLink (HDMI-CEC) ",
elle démarre bien quand je démarre ma Recalbox, ma freebox ou autre, mais c'est à moi de nomme mes entrées manuellement.

D'ailleurs à ce propos, je suis sur un dualboot Libreelec / Recalbox,
ma tv s'éteint en même temps que Libreelec, mais je doit l'arrêter manuellement sous Recalbox,
J'imagine que Libreelec envoie un signal que Recalbox n'envoie pas?

@PoP's je doute que ce soit du code au niveau de libreelec ou de recalbox, mais plutôt la configuration du /boot/config.txt. Mais j'avoue ne pas conanitre grand chose au CEC des pi

edit : j'aurais du fermer ma bouche ... les exemples que je lis sont basés sur libcec, qu'on a sur recalbox
