LibRetro Core "gpSP" storing saves in wrong directory

I recently switched the GBA core from mGBA to gpSP in recalbox.conf. I then noticed that the gba .sav files are stored in the roms directory /recalbox/share/roms/gba/ instead of the save directory /recalbox/share/saves/gba/.

Where can I fix the save path issue? Is there a seperate config file for gpSP libretro core?
