Transferring roms via mac

Hi guys thanks ahead of time for all of your hard work,

Im reinstalling my recalbox os because I've learned a bit more etc and I transferred all my roms over to my mac because I had more hard drive space, but Ive found transferring them back to the recalbox shared folder is painfully slow now. Is this just a mac thing? should I be using my pc to transfer roms over. I currently have them all on my mac external hd.

How are you transferring your roms back ,? Through samba ?

@Retronaut84 : I am currently transferring my ROMs from my mac, and I do not notice any problem... The Pi is connected over the network through Ethernet... When you say "slow", how slow it is?
