.CHD files for SegaCD and PCEngine-CD not opening
-
@4page Don't know for PCEngine-CD but you have to change the Core for the SegaCD in order to play with .CHD. You have to use Genesis Plus GX.
-
I did switch the emulator over to Genesis Plus GX, and it didn't do anything. Is there something in a config file I need to change to make it work, or is it just being weird?

I did nothing more than that for this system...
Do you use .CHD based on redump ?
-
@DacK I do not know what that means, so probably not.
-
@4page all my .chd games for SegaCD launch well.
Check your games, check the bios. -
@Scavy What do I look for in the bios?
-
-
The bios looks fine. And I tried both the SegaCD and the PCEngine CD with .cue files instead of .chd, and those didn't work either, so I don't think it's the files or the bios. Well, it might be the files, but not the file types. So I'm at a complete loss here now.
-
Though, would it potentially be problematic that I'm running the games off a flash drive instead of on the SD card the system is on?
-
@4page hi,
all my roms run from an external drive, or from my network. It shall not be the problem, but you can still try and test games running from your sd card.
My PC-Engine CD files are bin+cue, it works.
My Sega-CD files were bin+cue, i converted them into chd but both formats work.I suggest you could also look for a redump romset as these games were avaible on a CD. Check for a redump romset for sega/megaCD or PC engine CD and DL one or two games to test them.
-
I just grabbed a redump .cue/.bin from someplace and it's still doing the same thing. I suppose the next thing to try would be to reinstall Recalbox.
-
@4page yeap, test running these games on a fresh install.
Did you try several cores ? -
If by trying several cores you mean try the other provided emulators, then yes. If you didn't mean that, then no because I don't know what that means.
-
@4page yes it is the different emulators.
try a fresh install with games on your SD.
If it's not working, please post a support archive. -
Huh. Tried a clean install and it works from the SD card, but not from the Flash drive. Well, that's good to know. Thanks for the help.
-
@4page so now that ur roms and bios are okay, try to install a external support : format it in exfat format, give it a name, plug it, choose the name of your support in the menu, it will relaunch and create folders on your support. And it will be operational.
