ZX Spectrum save states

Hi Acris,
May I ask why this post was deleted?
Kind regards

@Beefington maybe start by giving information about your setup ?
-
@barbudreadmon
Happy toI am using a raspberry pi 4 (8gb ram) with the latest iteration of Recalbox (installed via a noobs install and updated in the process). I am using an Xbox 360 controller.
My rom files are on an external drive (in the shares folder).
Other systems work fine when saving, ZX Spectrum does notMany thanks

@Beefington which emulator are you using ? fuse ?
-
@barbudreadmon Yes. The libretro version.
-
@Beefington it appears to be a known issue : https://github.com/libretro/fuse-libretro/issues/82
Maybe try another emulator ?
-
@barbudreadmon - thank you. I'll have to learn how to add one - as there is only one option available in the settings at present. I assume that's possible? Thank you for the advice

Is that so ? I thought at least fbneo was available as an alternative in latest RB. No you can't add a new emulator.
-
@barbudreadmon sorry, yes. Fbneo is there, but when I tried that, I couldn't get a single rom to load. I shall try again.

That's because FBNeo requires usage of specific romsets, there is no readme with information about this in the zx spectrum folder ?
-
@barbudreadmon No. The read me file details the type of ROMs required (all the usual file types associated with spectrum emulators like fuse, spectaculator etc ) but does not reference a specific emulator.
Having looked, FBNeo seems to be an arcade emulator (much like MAME), so am confused as to why it would be an option to emulate a Sinclair spectrum. -

FBNeo is a multi-system emulator, it emulates arcade boards but also consoles and computers. It is very similar to MAME indeed (MAME also emulates consoles and computers, it even emulates printers and cigarette vending machines nowaday , i'm not joking).
Both emulators require usage of specific romsets, curatable through clrmamepro and the appropriate dat file(s). For RB's version of FBNeo, it should be this one for zx spectrum : https://github.com/libretro/FBNeo/blob/0f55647e043ace3ffb21003ee66f4fc65ad6ed4f/dats/FinalBurn Neo (ClrMame Pro XML%2C ZX Spectrum Games only).dat . Whether you decide to give it a try or not, i believe that's your only option if you want savestate support.

@barbudreadmon This is really useful, thank you.
