Rpi4 + USB HDD

Hello,
I have a problem with my rapberry pi 4 and my USB HDD.
When raspberry is booting, it is blocked on emulationstation loading.
Is it from my number of rom on my HDD about 5000 6000 roms on it ?So i let the raspberry in this state in order to build the rom database.
Do you know another way to connect my HDD without blocking recalbox ?Thx

Very unlikely, that should not be the problem.

Try starting Recalbox without the HD and see what happens. If it doesn't work, that's not the reason.

I already launch recalbox without the HDD and it's working.
So it's my HDD. Before, i have retropie and it's working fine. -

Are you trying to use the same HD of roms and settings for Recalbox and Retropie?
The configuration files are different, it's not just changing from one system to another ... -
Ok, i have tried to launch recalbox with an usb key it work fine.
I will follow your youtube video. -
Ok with the video and after a copie of my directory roms one by one, i have launch recalbox with my HDD. Thank you for your help.
