Upgrading Raspberry Pi 3 B to Raspberry Pi 3 B+ - help needed

So I changed my Raspberry Pi 3 B to a Raspberry Pi 3 B+ a few months ago and found out that my favourite Recalbox image was too old to support the 3 B+.

I was wondering is there a way to start a new fresh image, install the latest Recalbox then copy the games & metas from the old image to the new one (without having to scrape everything)?

I have no experience in creating image (just burning premade one and then tweak them).
