Howto for Save States?

Can someone explain to me on how to save games in recalbox? How does it work with keyboard or controllers and how can I load some save States? I am using Mame, GBA and SUPERNES emulators...

i have a saitek p220 joypad and whenever i set it up it mirrors some keys on the keyboard it seems to be interfering with save state / load state can i set up keyboard keys separately for load and save state ??
