Thanks to the dev team for this Xmas gift :D.

Same problem on Dreamcast to be reported on this latest version on my side:
Recalbox running on:

• Raspberry Pi 3 B+
• Gamepad Logitech F310
• with the default theme
• Roughly 20 Dreamcast games (I've tried on several games which were working on the previous beta : Soulcalibur, Sonic Adventure 2, Re-Volt, Rayman 2...)

Extensions : .cdi
Bios : As reported on readme file checksum (dc_bios, dc_boot, dc_flash)

Hi guys,
I had a RPi 3 B+ for xmas. I'd like to try my second xmas present -> this new Recalbox. However I'm still a noob.

My goal is to have a dual boot with Raspbian (for Jeedom) using NOOBS.

I don't know how to convert the img.xz into a the same format as in: os/recalboxOS-rpi3/ from "recalboxOS-4.1.0.zip" (download here https://github.com/recalbox/recalbox-os/releases)
Even when I mount "recalbox.rpi3.18.12.24.Christmas.beta.img", I don't find the same structure.

Any thoughts guys?

@voljega -=SOLVED=- In one of the Folders was an ini file In older Version no Problem. Sry for saying sucks, in the black screen could be a feedback available whats going on at the moment. Eventually there is a hotkey or something to enable this. Recalbox is really phenomenal work. Excuse me.

same scrapper problem (doesn't save anything) for me in my fresh new Odroid xu4q installation.

Whenever I exit from Kodi after the initial setup back to the Frontend, I can't start it anymore.
Still trying to figure out why.

Doesn't matter if I load my Kodi Backup or if I don't change anything at all.
After the first exit I can't start it again. It throws me back to Emulationstation after showing the Kodi 17.6 splashscreen.

Been trying to get it to run for the last 12 hours.
Anyone got an idea?

Using a Raspberry Pi 3B+, a 1TB Seagate USB HDD.

Another problem, as mentioned above, if I select an external storage, I can't SSH anymore. Every connection gets blocked.

@alex592 tu avais bien formaté ta carte sd avant de re essayer? moi a chaque fois que je me sers d'etcher à la fin de la procédure windows me sort le message.

Sois patient aussi, l'installation met quelque temps à démarrer (qq dizaines de secondes je dirais)

Depuis la sortie des différentes versions beta, je les aient toutes testés sur mon Pi3b+ pendant plusieurs heures avec mes amis.

Je dois dire que la dernière version recalbox.rpi3.18.12.24.Christmas.beta est super stable et que ce qui ne fonctionnait pas ou mal avant, dans mon cas, est à ce jour fonctionnel.

Bravo à toute l'équipe !

Je remonte quelques bugs(?) que j'ai trouvé aujourd'hui :
ma config :
Carte micro sd pour le système, clé usb 64go en Fat32 pour les roms
Bartop avec boutons branchés sur GPIO (avec le GPIO enable=1 dans le fichier conf)
paramètre de démarrage / liste de jeux uniquement sur ON.

• Quand recalbox est lancé, il m'est impossible de mettre une rom en favori, si j’éteins l'OS et que je redémarre ensuite, rien n'a été pris en compte, je dois le faire manuellement dans le fichier gamelist.xml pour que cela fonctionne (<favorite>true</favorite>)
• sans rien faire sur certaines consoles, après avoir débranché la clé usb et remis sur le pc, je constate que certains fichiers gamelist.xml sont renommé en GAMELIST.XML (en majuscule, pourquoi ?)
• Pourquoi dans certains dossier, des fichiers gamelist.xml.xml en parallèle des fichiers gamelist.xml sont crées (alors que je n'ai rien fait à part lancé des roms (ou pas) quelque seconde pour voir si tout fonctionne)
• certaines roms (romset mame2010) avec le pack overlays (arcade) 720p rament complétement (freeze/lags de plusieurs secondes, voir arrêt complet), en outre hotkey+start pour sortir du jeu fonctionne très bien. (note : pas de problème sur la précédente béta)

Since the release of various beta versions, I have tested all the versions on my Pi3b+, for many hours with my friends.

I must say that the latest version recalbox.rpi3.18.12.24.Christmas.beta is very stable and many things didn't work before, works now!

Congratulations to the recalbox team!

I give you the bugs(?) what I found today:
my config:
Micro SD card for the OS, 64GB USB key in Fat32 for Roms.
Bartop with buttons, connected to GPIO (with GPIO enable=1)
Boot settings/gamelist only : ON.

• When recalbox is launched, it's impossible to put a rom in favorite, if I turn off the OS and then I restart, nothing was saved, I have to do it manually in the gamelist.xml file for it to work (<favorite> true </ favorite>)
• without doing anything on some consoles, after having disconnected the usb key and put back on the pc, I notice that some gamelist.xml files are renamed in GAMELIST.XML (capitalized, why?)
• Why in some folders, gamelist.xml.xml files are created, just next to gamelist.xml (while I i didn't do anything other than roms for a few seconds to see if everything works)
• some roms (romset mame2010) with the 720P overlays pack (arcade overlays), freeze/lags of several seconds, or crash), In contrast hotkey + start to exit the game works fine. (no problem on the previous beta)

@lexx I have the exact same issue. Also with a 3b+. Problem occured just after movie scrapping. My library is not local though: it's on an smb share.
Now, just like for you, kodi is totally unusable, crashing to emulstation after the splashcreen.

Après quelques tests avec la christmas beta sur PI3B voici les quelques problèmes que j'ai rencontrés :

Ma Dualshock 2 avec adaptateur USB ne fonctionne plus correctement, seule le bouton triangle est reconnue (fonctionnait parfaitement sur la dernière version stable)

Atari ST : Il faudrait activer par défaut l'option "Show borders" dans "Atari monitor" de l "Hatari main menu" sinon l'image est étiré

FreeIntv : l'intégration est bonne mais l'émulateur n'est pas très aboutit, je vais garder mon Jzintv…

Satellaview : ne fonctionne pas

Another feedback, following the dreamcast one, leading to a black screen, with just the recalbox logo down on the middle and the name of the distrib in white down left.
To reproduce:
I've saved the folders/files from the previous recalbox version for Pi 3B+ (rom, bios and saves), and paste on the new version (quite rough, I must say :)). Doing this without removing all the previous gamelist.xml in each rom folders will lead to the black screen described above.

Le problème de scraping peut-il être général aux différentes versions ?

J'ai remis l'ancienne beta 3b+ pour voir, dans les mêmes conditions :

• Même carte SD 128Go formattée
• Roms transférées sur la carte SD (et gamelist.xml supprimés)

=> J'ai les mêmes symptômes lors du scraping qu'avec la BETA de Noël :

• Extrêmement lent
• Ne crée pas/modifie pas de gamelist.xml
• impossible de l'arrêter.

Et dans les logs, j'ai : [lvl0: ScraperHttpRequest network error (status: 2) - Error]

Par contre, pas de soucis pour les favoris sur cette version.

Hi all,

Great job Recalbox team on the new Christmas Beta. Seems to be running great so far but I am having an issue where the Scraper is not creating or modifying the gamelist.xml when Scraping. I have manually tried updating the Games List but no metadata is shown for these games. Manually Scraping a single game also doesn't add the metadata.

Seems like an issue in this Beta? I've tried rebuilding the SD card 3 times with the same results. Not system specific - using Screenscraper as the Scraper.

Any workaround known?

Petit rapport de bugs de ce que j'ai testé vite fait depuis la beta de Noël sur Pi3 (µSD SanDisk 16go)
Désolé si les erreurs sont redondantes et déjà signalées par d'autres membres.

• Toujours pas de musiques sur Prboom malgré le bon cheminement des fichiers

• La Dreamcast ne fonctionne plus (Les bios sont conforment)

• Le scrap ne se sauvegarde pas

• Problème de low voltage par moment. (J'utilise une alim Aukru 5v3a, un HDD 2to Maxtor connecté sur un hub USB alimenté, boitier retroflag snespicase + ventilateur)

• Intellevision: Le clavier numérique ne fonctionne pas sur certains jeux

• Manque les systèmes Naomi, Atomiswave, Model3, SegaM2, GX4000, Philips CDi, PCFX, Nintendo 64DD, Supervision, etc.... LOL

Tested in RPi 3B+ with roms and OS on microSD and PS3 controller.

• PS3 Controller didnt work wireless at the first 20 tries, so I thought Its just not supported yet. After more then one hour testing with the new image I unplugged the cable and the controller then connected (a bit strange... ). on RPi 3B with the last image everything worked flawless. So there is a new bug.

• Network always says "Not connected" either via wifi or ethernet cable. This caused me to bot beeing able to scrap the games. But it was connected to my network and accessable from the internet (tested the port on netplay). So there is a new bug.

• Deleting the last game in a gamelist or the screenshotlist (by using select->edit meta data ->delete) will cause the system to freeze (this bug was also in the past images of recalbox).

• I had a few restarts at the beginning where the box suddenly (in idle with no input) rebooted or freezed. This happened about 5-6 times. After this everything worked with not freeze or reboot EXCEPT one almost reporducable behaviour:
  If I config my PS3 controller there is sometimes a sudden restart. This comes more likely if I hit the buttons fast.
  Happened with 18.07.13 on RPi 3B and with this christmas image on RPi 3B+.

So far it works pretty stable and good.
I'm sure there will be more performance in the future because the games "only" run as fast as on RPi 3B. (RPi 3B clocked to 1350MHz and RPi 3B+ clocked to 1500MHz.... ).
Theoretically the RPi 3B+ should be a bit faster but its not.
