after intense search I try now this way to solve my problem:

I bought joysticks and knobs (with standard switches) and connected them via a USB PCB to my Raspi 4 with recal box installed.

System works fine, keyboard works fine and I could configure the switches and joystick. After that they worked in the recal menue but in no game. I reconfigured many times and tried all platforms. Everywhere the same. Back in the menue the joysticks and knobs work again.

I guess I´m missing out a simple configuration step, but I cannot find it. Any hints would be great!!! Thx in advance

@zing I have the same issues in all N64 games. I changed the emulator, I even changed the hardware from PI4 to PI3. Always the same. Could it be the USB boards connecting my analogue joy stick?

Ich habe alle Emulatoren, die installiert sind ausprobiert. Das sind 6 verschiedene, daran lags auch nicht. Kann das an der Hardware, an dem USB Board liegen?

@alvin Danke für die Tipps! Ich habe die Joysticks und Tasten über ein USB Board angeschlossen. Beide USB Boards (Pl1& Pl2) sind exakt gleich angeschlossen. Pl1 funktioniert perfekt nur beim Pl2 eine Taste falsch belegt. Im RB Menü ist sie richtig belegt und funktioniert nur in N64 Spielen scheint eine andere Funktion drauf gemapped zu sein.

ich habe eine Arcade gbaut mit einem PI4 und dort 2 Joysticks und Tasten angeschlossen. Alles funktioniert gut solange ich im Hauptmenü bin . Wenn ich MArio Kart in N64 spielen will, dann reagiert eine Taste von Spieler 2 völlig falsch. Statt zu beschleunigen beendet sie das Spiel. Kann mir einer sagen woran das liegen kann? JEder Tipp is willkommen Danke!

Joystick and buttons work fine in the recalbox menu. BUT my problem is now: In N64 Mario kart one player works fine (buttons and joystick) the second player works apart from one button (the most important one). When I push this button N64 shuts off and sends me back to the recal box menu.. so I cannot play the games... Any hint is highly welcome. Thx

Actually I got one step further by reseting recalbox and configuring the controllers again. Now Controller 1 works well. BUT... Controller 2 works strange. I did exactly the same config (hardware and software) and it works fine in the menu of recal box. But when I want to play Mario kart in N64 the Right "fire" button forces the system to restart...and I do not understand why. When I use the same button in other games or in the menu it works well. Any idea :-)?
