      Hello,
      I hope this is the correct place for this. 🙂
      I have been running a dual-boot Recalbox/Kodi sysytem using PINN, but it seems over complicated for my needs, so have just installed Recalbox and will try the build-in Kodi.

      I've notice that when I start kodi, '/var/log/messages' fills up with:

      ===================================================
      Mar 30 07:08:43 RECALBOX local0.err lircd-0.10.1[1052]: Error: could not get file information for /dev/lirc0
      Mar 30 07:08:43 RECALBOX local0.err lircd-0.10.1[1052]: default_init(): No such file or directory
      Mar 30 07:08:44 RECALBOX local0.err lircd-0.10.1[1052]: Error: could not get file information for /dev/lirc0
      Mar 30 07:08:44 RECALBOX local0.err lircd-0.10.1[1052]: default_init(): No such file or directory
      Mar 30 07:08:45 RECALBOX local0.err lircd-0.10.1[1052]: Error: could not get file information for /dev/lirc0
      Mar 30 07:08:45 RECALBOX local0.err lircd-0.10.1[1052]: default_init(): No such file or directory
      =====================================================

      I control my system either with a gamepad or CEC via the tv for Kodi (and sometimes Yatse),
      so do not need IR, especially as it's not working :).

      Is there any way of disabling lirc?

      Many thanks

    • RE: How to play media on the Odroid Go Advance BE?

      @chardstone it may be a pita for you, but I opted to dual boot my pi so that I wasn't waiting for recalbox to update their Kodi version.

      @chardstone odd, I may have to bow out I'm afraid, as I know nothing about your device.
      On the pi, you click start or select to get a setup menu for controllers, emulators, scrapers etc., from what you've said, all of your setup seems to be by editing config files.

      @chardstone I have a Pi4, but whether Kodi is enabled, the start key and whether it automatically starts at startup is in the setup menu. Do you have that option?

    • Multiple systems using /share

      So, this is not multi boot in the normal sense, but if I have an RPi system and a PC based system, can they share ROMs and Savegames?
      Anything else? Is guess the emulators are different, but can they exist in the same directory structure with each system choosing the appropriate one, or is it best to keep some stuff local?

      Thanks and Happy Christmas, I'm obviously not expecting a rush of replies today 🤣

    • RE: Unmount Network Drives.

      @zing thankyou for your suggestion, I think the instructions I had used were derived from that page but I'm not sure.
      Anyway, what I tried was to mount the drives individually instead of using 'SHARE' and I did not bother with screenshots, userscripts (I had unsuccessfully tried a script to unmount all drives on SHUTDOWN) and music as I have nothing in them and it works as expected.

      Thanks again
      Paul

    • Unmount Network Drives.

      Hi, I have a multi boost system made using PINN. I opted for this because Recalbox 7.2.2's Kodu would not seem to work with CEC. Recalbox 8 electron came out while I was building it, so I'm using that.

      PINN lets you set Recalbox to boot back to the Kodi system installed (I have Libreelec and OSMC ) when selecting Kodi, instead of using the 'native' Recalbox one.

      I also have the Recalbox 'SHARE' folder on a NAS.

      So far so good, occasionally the drive doesn't mount but that's ok.

      My problem is that when it does mount and i select reboot to Kodi, Shutdown or reboot, it hangs on the screen warning you to wait before turning off. I'm suspecting that it's because the network share is not being dismounted, but I can't find anywhere to dismount it.

      Many thanks
