    • Won't Update from 6.1.1

I'm trying to force my Recalbox to update, but it's saying it cannot connect.

I found a few old posts that essentially say to stop ES, change the file /recalbox/share/system/.emulationstation/es_settings.cfg to use archive.recalbox.com instead of just recalbox.com for UpdateServer, then restart ES.

I did this, but then it can't ping archive.recalbox.com:

      PING archive.recalbox.com (217.70.184.56): 56 data bytes

      --- archive.recalbox.com ping statistics ---
1 packets transmitted, 0 packets received, 100% packet loss
      lo IP Address 127.0.0.1
      eth0 IP Address 192.168.0.150

If I try to manually ping that address, I get a similar result with a little more detail:

      ping archive.recalbox.com
      PING webredir.gandi.net (217.70.184.56) 56(84) bytes of data.
      ^C
      --- webredir.gandi.net ping statistics ---
4 packets transmitted, 0 received, 100% packet loss, time 3076ms

I think it's because archive.recalbox.com is a redirect, and the redirect server probably doesn't respond to pings. So I tried download.recalbox.com instead (since that's where archive.recalbox.com seems to redirect to) and it just never performed the update.

It says "Connected" in the "Network Settings" screen now (it said "Not Connected" when using archive.recalbox.com, because it seems to ping that address to see if it's connected) but it still won't download and run the update.

      Any suggestions?

    • RE: Per System Button Mapping

@Zing That's great and all, except that when I press (hotkey + b), as directed by the instructions in that link, it does absolutely nothing in the N64 emulator. It works in the SNES emulator but not the N64 emulator, so I can't follow the instructions.

    • Per System Button Mapping

Is there a way to change button mapping for different systems? Or in a later version, would it be possible to build a way to do so?

My big problem is that different systems have different buttons, and not all possible buttons are even covered by the current button mapping UI. For example, the N64 has the 4 C-buttons, and a Z-button, none of which are covered by the current UI. It's difficult to figure out where all of those buttons map to with the current setup, or if they mapped at all.

It seems to me that it would be ideal to have a different button mapping window for each system, which would make sure that all of the buttons for that system are covered and mapped properly.

From a programming perspective, this shouldn't be too difficult if the mapping UI is an object which can have variables for which buttons are available and where those buttons are mapped. I just don't know enough about the code base to even find where the mapping UI is.

    • Can't open NES ROM page

      Raspberry Pi model: 3B+
Recalbox version (build): I think it said 6.0 when booting, but the web interface says 2.2.3 (should be the latest, as it's set to auto-update.)

In the web interface, I can't seem to get to the list of NES ROMs. It just continually tries to load the page, showing a spinner which never stops spinning.

I want to add an NES ROM, but I can't because I can't get the list of ROMs to load. The ES seems to be reading the existing ROMs fine, as I see the list of ROMs in that folder when using Recalbox, but I can't get the list to load on the web interface. All other systems seem to be fine - I tested SNES and some others - but for some reason only the page for NES ROMs won't load.

I've tried restarting ES, and then restarted the Pi. Still nothing. Not sure what else to try.
