    • RE: [4.1-stable] Loading roms from a network shared folder does not work with 4.1 commands.

      D**n, I'm so stupid...

      sharenetwork_smb1=ROMS@192.168.0.101:recalbox/roms:username=recalbox,password=PASSWORD,vers=2.0

      Is not meant as command, but as a property in the recalbox-boot.conf also...

      But this fixed my problem, neither. The share is not mounted because this functionality is not working if you use the WLAN interface... -.-

      This should really be mentioned in the wiki!

    • [4.1-stable] Loading roms from a network shared folder does not work with 4.1 commands.

      Hi,

      I just tried to load my roms from a network shared folder according to you wiki.

      Unfortunately this does not work as described. I tried the recommended way for "Recalbox version >= 4.1". I edited the recalbox-boot.conf file (sharedevice=INTERNAL -> sharedevice=NETWORK) and tried the commands:

      sharenetwork_smb1=ROMS@192.168.0.101:recalbox/roms:username=recalbox,password=PASSWORD,vers=2.0

      and

      sharenetwork_cmd1="mount -t cifs //192.168.0.101/recalbox /recalbox/share -o user=recalbox,password=PASSWORD=0,gid=0,rw"

      Both are not working or does to have an effect. I don't get any return from the console. I can login with the user recalbox to the share with another PC and have read/write access.

      I'm also able to mount the share manually to i.e. /media/share to recalbox.

      mount -t cifs //192.168.0.101/recalbox/roms /media/roms -o user=recalbox,password=b7TBVx5RDB58I22f4oQK,uid=0,gid=0,rw

      Can someone confirm and has a workaround? Can I safely use the old way for "Recalbox version <= 4.0.x"?

      Greetings and marry xmas
      Sebastian

      P.S.:
      Your wiki is not correct.

      sharenetwork_cmd1=mount -o port=2049,nolock,proto=tcp 192.168.0.1:/Documents/recalbox /recalbox/share

      This command does not work in general without quotes.

    • RE: Recalbox not allowing browsing over the network

      @astlaurent This problem occurs because Windows (I assume you use Windows 10) uses the actual windows account to login into SMB-Shares. Normally you should then be remapped to a an guest account (because recalbox does not know you windows user), but Windows seems not to accept it and denies the access to the network share or the remapping from samba does not work correctly. I did not investigate further. Anyway, if you remove the "map to guest=bad user" property from smb.cfg at the recalbox, Windows will ask you for login information.

    • RE: OpenVPN on Recalbox?

      Yeah, I'm an evil person. πŸ˜„ My provider uses Dual Stack Lite, so I only got a IPv6 address to reach my network. But i.e. my mobile provider only supports IPv4. So I wanted to use the rpi3, because it doesn't consume that much power andΒ it can run 24/7, as a VPN-bridge to my network together with an IPv4->IPv6 mapping service.

      Of course, I own all the games physically. πŸ˜‰ Maybe I mixed it up about the DAT-File. πŸ˜„

      Thanks again, I read the howto about adding packages on your own, but I wanted to ask to be sure. My know-who would be enough to add packages on my own, even though I have to learn a lot. Considering the lack of time you are right to advise me to use retropie. Greetings m0nKeY

    • OpenVPN on Recalbox?

      Hi, is it possible to install OpenVPN on the Recalbox? Or more precise, is it possible to run Recalbox also as an OpenVPN server? Greetings m0nKeY

      Thank you, πŸ™‚ your english isn't worse then mine. πŸ˜„ I think, I have to live with it to extract all ROMs and to zip them manually or put them directlly onto the recalbox. What about a *.DAT file for romset managment?

    • Multi ROM Archives, 7z Support and a Compatibility-DAT-File

      Hi eveyone, I just started to work with Recalbox and an Rpi3. This are the first questions came to my mind and to which I did not find an answer through google, etc. Because most of my ROMs are compressed with 7zip, is *.7z supported by Recalbox? Is it possible to read multiple ROMs out of an compressed file? Where can I find a Compaibility-DAT-File for recal box to check which ROMs are wokring and which are not? Β  Greetings m0nKeY
