Solved Wired Xbox 360 controller not working

Hi

I have the official Xbox 360 controller and have it wired by the charging cable to my PI USB. The controller is detected in the config section but won't config when I hold the button down, the lights keep flashing on the control but doesn't stay on or to one indicating player 1 selected.

Is it the charging cable that's the problem and won't work so then I would need the wireless receiver?

Managed to sort it myself

The charging cable doesn't work like it does on the Xbox it has to be a fully wired controller or using a wireless receiver which I went for and works straight out the box
