Adding an emulator

Hey guys, I've read the manual in order to add a "modification" to the RecalBoxOS. I would like to compile iMame4AllPi, but I don't have a clue where to start. A debian-system for example is very straight forward regarding compilation and building. I don't want to bother you guys, but since there are major issues with the libretro imame4all core in this image I would like to use iMame4all itself. I made a short jump to RetroPie, but there very several other issues which made me come back to RecalBox. If someone has a little experience with buildroot, it'll be awesome to get a hand.
