I've installed Recalbox 4.0beta4 on a Samsung EVO+ 128GB sd card, after formatting it with sd card formatter. Nothing happened, the installing process doesn't start. Am I doing something wrong or is it the card simply not compatible?
You shoule verify that the card is formatted in FAT32
Yes indeed, when you are using an SD card with a capacity superior to 32GB, windows don't use the FAT32 to format your card, but exFAT format. So the installation of recalbox is impossible.
I'm not a windows user, but I think that with minitool partition you can format your 128GB card in FAT32 format.
If you have a PC using linux, you'll able to format in FAT32 with GParted.
I confirm, use minitool partition wizard to format in FAT32. Don't forget to set the partition as Principal.
Thank you, this was exactly the problem. I forgot everything must be on FAT32 to work on the Pi. I used the Disk utility on my Mac to format and now everything works fine.
