System don't save mapping after update

Have a raspberry pi 3 and the latest update 9.2.3 Pulstar.

I map both my controllers, "EG STARTS 2 Player Arcade Contest DIY Kits USB Encoder"
When I restart the system it has forgotten my mapping on the one I have as Player one.
Up is down and left is right.

Did a restart now. Then it remember player one, but now player two has up for down and left for right.

Is there a North and South on these kits?
I have turned the Player one joystick 180 degrees because of a bit tight space in my cabinet.

Why does it not remember this?
Did not have this issue before updated today.

Hasn't used this for a while.
