8BItDo SN30 PRO+ will not work after firmware update

In the past I had issues with 8BItDo SN30 PRO+ after Recalbox updates. I was able to fix:

To summarize, I had to:

1. downgrade firmware to v4.01
2. reset to factory settings (may not have to)
3. change driver from automatic to "system"
4. choose B+Start (Android pairing mode)
5. once paired, config controller
6. Select the SN30 pro+ as controller 1 (and unplug the controller/keyboard used in pairing)

WELL, I just stupidly upgraded the firmware to V5.04 thinking the issues had been fixed and now the controllers no longer work. So I tried to downgrade the firmware back to V4.01 but the Updater program only goes back to V5.02!!
So now my controllers will not function at all and I have no way to downgrade the firmware that was the fix previously. Any ideas or other fixes? Searching the forum I have found no fix for this bug. HELP!

OK, it took all morning but I have a solution. 8bitdo no longer has versions older than V5 of the firmware on their site. I was able to find an older version of the firmware here: https://github.com/fwupd/8bitdo-firmware/issues/36
I downgraded to firmware to V4.02 and everything works again. Hope this helps someone else.
Moral of the story, DO NOT upgrade your 8bitdo firmware if it is working!!!

i have the same pad, and same issue regarding the V5.04 firmware. I'll try to downgrade to see what's happening
