Can't add a startup script

I'm following all the procedures of this post: https://github.com/recalbox/recalbox-os/wiki/Add-your-own-startup-script-(EN)

but after I reboot the system de file S99custom return to it's original contents. Everything that I do in the /etc folder return to its original contents.

I want to edit this file to insert the following script: echo 1 > /sys/module/bluetooth/parameters/disable_ertm

I want this to be able to use my Xbox One S bluetooth controller.
