How to get proper working xbox360 controller?

Hi guys,

My problem is this:
I want to play PSX, N64 and Gameboy games.
For this I use four xbobx360 controllers (four for Mario Kart 64, for example).

But since 3 days using Google and self-experiments I am not able that both analog and digital control works. Analog for racing games (PSX and N64) and digital for Gameboy games. It is always only one of the two possible.
Also, I would like to calibrate the analog sticks of the gamepads, but I do not know how and where.
And I do not have vibration in any game, which is not so bad.

So what do I have to do to have four very well-functioning xbox360 controllers?
