Issue with the 2.8" screen (white screen)

  • Hello, i have a issue with the screen, when i'm following that tutorial below, i keep getting a white screen on the LCD screen
    https://github.com/recalbox/recalbox-os/wiki/TFT-Screen-SPI-Bus-(EN)
    I'm using a Raspberry Pi 3 along with a PitFT 320x240 2.8" Touchscreen resistive.
    I'm not sure if i did a mistake in the Config.txt file, but here what i have:

    #Smallscreen
    dtparam=spi=on
    dtparam=i2c1=on
    dtparam=i2c_arm=on
    hdmi_force_hotplug=1
    hdmi_cvt=320 240 60 1 0 0 0
    hdmi_group=2
    hdmi_mode=87
    dtoverlay=pitft28-capacitive,rotate=90,speed=32000000,fps=60

    #uncomment if you get no picture on HDMI for a default "safe" mode
    #hdmi_safe=1

    disable_overscan=1

    #uncomment to force a specific HDMI mode (this will force VGA)
    #hdmi_group=2
    #hdmi_mode=87

    #comment to get jack audio
    #hdmi_drive=2

    #config_hdmi_boost=0

    #force hdmi while the tv can take time before sending the signal on the hdmi output
    #hdmi_force_hotplug=1

    #uncomment for composite PAL
    #sdtv_mode=2

    #uncomment for lirc-rpi
    #dtoverlay=lirc-rpi

    #if you plug your tv at the same time as your rpi and that the rpi switches from the hdmi or give a low resolution because tv had no enough time to initialize it
    boot_delay=3

    #uncomment if you don't want the rainbow at startup
    disable_splash=1

    #Overclock
    #gpu_mem_256=128
    #gpu_mem_512=256
    #gpu_mem_1024=512

    avoid_safe_mode=1

    kernel=zImage

    #NOOBS Auto-generated Settings:
    #hdmi_force_hotplug=1
    #overscan_scale=0
    #dtparam=audio=on#

  • @toxicooow this is plugged through i2c on GPIO, not another bus ?

  • @coincoin I have no idea actually, i have plugged it like illustrated in the picture.

  • Well, turnout i find out what was wrong, and the issue was my screen was defective, since it didn't work with Raspbian or Retropie with the configuration.
    It was keep blinking but no image appeared.
