Installing Beta Procedure

What is the beta install procedure? Do I have to format the card and loose all the roms I have on there?

Yes you have to make a full install. Last time I was told it will be the same for the stable release anyway. It won't be possible as far as know to go from 3.2.11 to 3.3.0 via the regular update procedure from the system menu.

Is there no way to update via ssh or winscp and copy the files over manually? I have 32GB of files and a super slow card reader so if I can avoid having to recopy all the files that would be nice.

Nope sorry, there too many changes between 3.2.11 and 3.3.0. So, there is no available update....

But when it comes out of beta people will be able to do the auto update from 3.2.1 right?
