@gnubit Thanks for the tutorial, but on my NUC7 i had to insert a "sleep 1" before the "xrandr -s 1920x1080" line to make it working.
Without "sleep" it fully started (you could hear the music and ssh access was possible) and the tv displayed the correct resolution but the screen was black.
Thanks for the settings, unfortunately, they're not helping me with my issue.
Do you also have the flickering/tearing in some games?

recently I own a Waveshare Game Hat and I noticed screen tearing during fast movements.

The same can be seen in games.
I use these settings as specified by the manufacturer:
hdmi_group=2
hdmi_mode=87
hdmi_cvt=640480601000
Can this be fixed with some kind of vsync setting or is there an issue with the screen?
By the way, the same occurs with the readymade images of Retropy and Recalbox from the manufacturer's website.
