Hi, I know this is the French forum, but I was hoping I could disturb with some English still. I was hoping I could ask you a few questions Hendryck: * What type of power supply did you use? Arcade or ATX? Thinking what type of cables to choose from the smallcab kits. * I am having a really hard time finding a 19" 4:3 monitor, do you think a 20" would fit in the plans you used? The one I am looking at has a width of 44,5cm and a height of 36,5cm. Thank you in advance for your help.

Hi Dloop! I think my bartop use the same configuration as Hendryck, powered by R pi 2 🙂 I don't use any arcade or ATX power supply! Just : - for button light, simple 12v molex power supply : http://www.smallcab.net/alimentation-molex-12v-p-808.html -  For the rest ( audio amp, light, rpi ) : http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/NjAwWDYwMA==/z/aAQAAOSweW5VD9V0/$_35.JPG - This one directly connected at the backdoor with : http://www.arcadewinkel.nl/componenten/voeding/emi-filter-powerswitch   That's all! If you buy a a sound amp in smallcab shop, you may buy this power supply too : http://www.smallcab.net/alimentation-12v-p-570.html Hop I can help 🙂

Thanks Kintaro Oe! 🙂 That helps a lot. One more question; is it worth getting this package: http://www.smallcab.net/zippy-kit-joysticks-bright-chrome-buttons-and-usb-interface-p-496.html or shouls I just go with this instead: http://www.smallcab.net/zippy-kit-joysticks-bright-chrome-buttons-p-630.html ? When building yours, was a 19" monitor a tight squeeze or do you think a 20" would have worked as well? And what latency on the screen should one accept as a worst case scenario? 🙂 Thank you in advance 🙂

Cool ! 🙂 I bought the same button package for my small bartop, and it fit perfectly in my project as i used a 17" monitor 🙂 BUT : - for the use, it seems that it is more comfortable to add at least an extra button by player (for special shortcut, and some emulator like mame or pifba have some problem when using other button, like "select" (usualy used for the credit button) - Zippy controles are cool, but if you want something better, with same sensation and precision (for fighting games like street fighter, and shoot'm up), you'd better select semitsu control! For the little story : zippy are copy of semitsu! I changed for this model and it's night and day 😄 A 17" monitor is enough for a small project 🙂 I used the same plan as degeneratron  : https://sites.google.com/site/degenatrons/my-arcade-cabinets-menu/bubble-bobble-xbox Super cool video tutorial at this place : https://sites.google.com/site/degenatrons/building-an-xbox-powered-arcade-cabinet For now, i didn't notice any latency problem with my 17", even with psx emulator : every games are smooth and clear 🙂 Good luke for you'r project! Have fun! Edit : Smallcab is a very very cool shop ! Technical support is very good!

Bonjour Hendryck,   Super boulot !!!

Modèle long : Modèle court :
