Wireless XBOX 360 controller and the deadzone in N64 games
-
Hi,
I upgraded from 4.02 to 4.1. After I disabled the xbox driver and remapped my controller I tried N64 games and my save state in Mario 64. I played this a lot on 4.0x. So I immediately noticed that Mario is moving on his own sometimes. I thing to deadzone is too small. Can I disable this or is this planned in the next update to fix?
And a suggestion: Please map the XBOX 360 controller automatically. Recalbox success come from the "plug and play" claim. This was not plug and play. I know it is a beta but keep that in mind. Keep up the great work!

Do you mean "please remap the x360 pad during the upgrade to 4.1" ? If so, yup, that is planned, written, and will need testing. But of course we'll release 4.1 with an automatic update of the x360 button mapping
Regarding your problem, you can edit
~/configs/mupen64/input.xml
and change the value of the dead zone. Do you need any help on how to access this file ? You can also reach through you windows network places with\\recalbox\share\system\configs\mupen64

@Substring Thank you for your answer. I am glad to hear that you plan to autoconfigure the XBOX 360 pads in the final 4.1 release.
I look into the mupen folder but I only found the InputAutoCfg.ini which seems to be overwritten when I start the emulator. I also tried to change the deadzone value in mupen64plus.cfg without luck.
Any idea how to fix that?

@Substring Ah now I get it: I have to add an input.xml and then the values will be overwritten in the other configs. I used this as a template: https://github.com/recalbox/recalbox-buildroot/blob/master/board/recalbox/fsoverlay/recalbox/share_init/system/configs/mupen64/input.xml
Is there a global location where I can overwrite the deadzone for alle emulators?
